MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev asked the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and government chief of staff Sergei Prikhodko on Monday to prepare proposals on retaliatory measures after the European Union decided to extend sanctions against Moscow.
“Given the fact that the European Union extended sanctions against the Russian Federation for six months, I ask you to prepare my appeal to the president with a proposal to extend the presidential decree on restrictive measures by Russia for this period of time,” Medvedev said.
The minister also asked to prepare a relevant government decree establishing categories of products affected by Russia’s restrictive measures.
