EU Commission Offered Greece 35bln by 2020 to Boost Economic Growth
BEIJING (Sputnik) China hopes that Greece will soon deal with the debt crisis, thereby promoting economic integration in Europe, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said Tuesday.

"We have noticed that all the concerned parties carry out close communication to address the debt crisis in Greece. We hope that Greece will overcome the crisis as soon as possible and will contribute to the further integration in Europe," the spokesman said at a press briefing.

Kang refrained from commenting on the possibility of China providing financial support to Greece.

Asked whether China will offer solutions to the Greek debt crisis during the 17th China-EU Summit in Brussels between June 28 and July 2, the spokesman said only that China's Premier Li Keqiang will exchange views on issues of mutual interest.

Greece is currently holding talks with the European Union and international creditors on the settlement of the country's $350-billion debt.

Athens is making efforts to unlock a new bailout deal in exchange for reforms in Greece, with the current deal expiring on 30 June, as the country faces a potential default on its debt.
