EU representatives urge Kiev to provide Donbass with a special status on a continuing basis, not for three years, according to "Ukrainska Pravda" newspaper.
European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn expressed the opinion during his visit to Ukraine.
We discussed #decentralisation, #constitutional reform and implementation of #Minsk Agreements. 2/2

This request has been confirmed by the Deputy Chairman of Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Foreign Affairs, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.
"Europeans call for the special status of Donbass' strategy proposal not to be limited to three years but to work on a permanent basis", said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.
Minsk agreements reached on February 12 oblige Kiev, in addition to the cease-fire, withdrawal of heavy weapons and the establishment of security zones, to conduct a direct dialogue with the Donetsk and the Lugansk representatives particularly, on the issue of local elections in the region, decentralizing power through making changes to the Constitution of Ukraine as well as giving the special status of "individual regions" to Donetsk and Lugansk.
