MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to British media, the activists protested against proposed reforms to disability benefits distribution system, which will see some 2 million claimants reassessed.
"We tried to get down there because the Government needs to listen. We tried to get into the chamber but we were stopped by police," a protester named Mary Johnson said, as quoted by the Telegraph.
According to The Telegraph, “dozens” of police officers and Commons officials prevented demonstrators from entering the chamber.
One activist, a woman, was reportedly “led away” by police.
