According to the channel, some 160 people took to the streets to protest placing asylum seekers in a former hotel. About 50 refugees at the site are said to have been surrounded by demonstrators who shouted insults and demanded that they leave the city.
Police stated that at the end of the demonstration a bottle was thrown at one of the left-wing activists, who sustained light injuries.

The protests were held near Dresden, location of an anti-immigration group called Pegida, founded in late 2014. The group's fearful tone struck a chord with some Germans unhappy about a rising influx of refugees and what they regard as the growing impact of Islam on Europe's cultural identity.
