“As a disciplined member of FIFA with no intention to either pull out from or suspend its membership of the organization, the Ukrainian Football Federation simply has no sportive reason not to take part in the 2018 World Cup,” Surkis told Russia’s Football Club weekly, adding that Ukrainian footballers had not yet secured a place for themselves in the WC finals in the first place.
In March Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko urged his country's allies to consider boycotting the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Russia responded by saying that all preparatory work would be completed on time and that the 2018 World Cup would become one of the best ever.
The games of the 2018 World Cup will be played at 12 stadiums in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi and Rostov-on-Don.
