MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Friday's attack at the El Kantaoui resort neighborhood north of Sousse was the highest fatality event of the kind in the history of Tunisia. Rezgui, a local student, shot and killed some 40 people at the Imperial hotel, majority of them Britons. Some forty others were injured. The shooter was killed by police.
"A few people were detained based on the suspicion of having links with the terrorist attack in Sousse," Luginy told local radio Mosaique FM.
Earlier, an official for the Tunisian Foreign Ministry told Sky News Arabia channel told the country's authorities were confident that Seifeddine Rezgui, the person who had opened fire on the tourist beach, had been helped by several individuals who had provided him with weapons.
According to earlier media reports, the Tunisian police arrested the attacker's father and three roommates in a university dormitory.
