MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to local media, about 100 migrants started throwing rocks and sticks at passing cars and set trash bins on fire by the refugee camp on Monday.
Hungary is among the countries that oppose the European Commission's plan to relocate migrants arriving to Southern European member states to other countries in the European Union based on national quotas.
Earlier in June, Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban said that it is Hungary and not Italy or Greece that had faced the biggest inflow of migrants this year. Also this month, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Budapest would construct a 109-mile-long fence along its border with Serbia to stop the uncontrolled flow of migrants.
