MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to Central Japan Railway officials, as quoted by Japan’s public broadcaster NHK, the train, that was heading for Osaka from Tokyo, emergency stopped near Odawara City after “a passenger poured something like oil onto his head in the vestibule of the lead car.”
The media reported, citing Odawara City's fire department, that at least two people were in cardiac and respiratory arrest. Total of eight passengers were reportedly injured by fire.
According to NHK, the alleged self-murderer has died.
