MOSCOW, June 30 (Sputnik) – The Russian envoy said that Montenegro's possible NATO membership threatened both European security and the country's ties with Russia.
“This is a completely negative step for both European security and for our relations with Montenegro because it’s obvious that a country, which is close historically and spiritually, is stepping into an organization that, to say the least, is unfriendly in regard to Russia,” Grushko said during a live video uplink between Moscow and Brussels.
