Ferry Sinks Off Central Philippines - Sputnik International
At least 36 people were killed after a ferry carrying 173 passengers capsized in rough waters off Ormoc City, the Philippines, on Thursday, officials report.

The boat, called the Kim Nirvana, was heading from the port of Ormoc to the island of Camotes when it overturned.

Dozens of survivors were found clinging to the hull of the capsized boat approximately half a mile (one kilometer) off the coast, according to Ciriaco Tolibao from Ormoc's disaster risk reduction and management office.

Tolibao, however, did not clarify the number of people who were rescued and the number of those still missing.
