Washington Navy Yard on Lockdown, Shooting Reported Inside

According to DC Fire Department, no casualties have been reported; SWAT teams doing second sweep as a precaution.

An employee inside the facility says alarms are sounding around the site. Law enforcement sources say there may be two armed men inside the building.

The lockdown comes amid heightened security concerns ahead of the US Independence Day holiday weekend. 

According to the sources, officers have cleared the 5th floor at the facility; evacuation is underway. 

The facility is located on the Anacostia River which is less than a mile south of the US Capitol.

In September 2013, Aaron Alexis killed 12 people in the exact same biulding. He was eventually shot dead by police. This was the second-deadliest shooting at a US military base since the Fort Hood.
