On Friday, the US-led coalition launched airstrikes on IS in the area of Raqqa, as the Kurds have blocked the Islamists' main supply route from Turkey, witnesses said as cited by the Quatar-based broadcaster.
According to Al Jazeera, two suicide attacks were reported on Saturday, in Suluk north of Raqqa and the Kurdish town of Kobane. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for both assaults.
Airstrikes carried out by the US-led coalition on ISIL targets on Saturday killed at least nine fighters, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
Recently, the Kurdish and Syrian forces have taken Tal Abyad, a major IS transit point on Syria's border with Turkey, cutting off Raqqa from supply and reinforcement.
The city has been controlled by radical Islamists over the last two years.
