LUHANSK (Sputnik) – Local elections for the mayors and regional heads will be held on November 1 in the southeastern Ukrainian self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic, LPR leader Igor Plotnitsky said Monday.
“I call for holding elections of the heads of cities and regions in the Lugansk People’s Republic on November 1, 2015,” Plotnitsky said in a statement published by the Lugansk news center.
Last week, the eastern Ukrainian self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic announced local elections would be held on October 18.
