Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Francois Hollande have discussed the outcome of Sunday’s referendum in Greece and the situation in Eurozone as a whole over the phone, Kremlin press service said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Sunday, more than 61 percent of Greek voters rejected the lenders-proposed bailout plan, which envisaged spending cuts and tax increases in exchange for further financial assistance to the country. The vote has renewed fears of a Greek default and exit from the eurozone.

On Monday, Putin also discussed the outcomes of the Greek referendum with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.
