Iran, P5+1 Still Far From Final Deal Despite Having Agreed 4 Annexes Out of 5
Despite having agreed four annexes to the future comprehensive agreement on Iranian nuclear program out of five, Tehran and the P5+1 group of international negotiators are still quite far from reaching a final deal, a source in a Western delegation said Tuesday.
"It has been formulated rather precisely. But everyone is still far from the agreement," the source told RIA Novosti answering a question on whether the information that the sides have agreed four annexes to the future deal out of five, spread by media earlier, was true.
Iran and a group of the P5+1 countries, comprising Russia, China, the United States, France, the United Kingdom and Germany, are in talks trying to reach a final agreement on Tehran's controversial nuclear program.
In April, the P5+1 group and Tehran reached a preliminary political framework deal, which stipulated that Iran cuts back its uranium enrichment activities and decreases the number of centrifuges in exchange for gradual sanctions relief.
The deadline for reaching the final agreement was initially set for July 30, but as the date approached, the negotiators decided to extend talks until July 7.
