In June, WikiLeaks published documents, obtained from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, revealing that the agency had spied on three French presidents: incumbent Francois Hollande, Nicolas Sarkozy and Jacques Chirac.

HELSINKI (Sputnik), Svetlana Alexandrova – France needs to investigate US National Security Agency (NSA) espionage practices, Yves Pozzo di Borgo, a member of the French delegation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), told Sputnik.

"I think it is a big problem. Americans are spying on everyone. The problem is that no one in Europe is properly addressing the issue and confronting the United States concerning the espionage allegations. Despite probe's drop, the prosecutor's office announced that an investigation into widespread spying of German telecommunications data by British and American intelligence agencies would continue.
