WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, the P5+1 composed of the United States, France, Russia, China nad, the United Kingdom plus Germany agreed to extend until July 10, 2015 negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program as the sides try to hammer out a final agreement.
“Continued negotiations at this point will only lead to further US concessions and a better deal for Iran that funds and emboldens this terrorist-sponsoring regime.”
Rubio argued that instead of extending international negotiations with Iran for the second time in a week, the United States should walk away from the table and apply more pressure on Iran.
“It is now clearer than ever that only increased pressure on Iran will ensure a deal that prevents Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon,” Rubio said, adding that Iran is not negotiating in good faith.
The Republican presidential candidate has been a vocal critic of any negotiations with Iran.
In May 2015, Rubio suggested in an interview that a bad deal with Iran would guarantee war and Tehran would attack the United States. He also suggested US-ally Israel would bomb Iran.
