WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On September 11, 2012, Islamic militants attacked the United States’ diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, leaving US Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other US nationals dead as well as ten others injured.
“Newly revealed testimony from the [President Barack] Obama State Department under court order directly ties Hillary Clinton, for the first time, to the now-debunked Benghazi talking points used by United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice to claim that the attack was the result of a ‘spontaneous protest’ gone awry.”
Five days later, then US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice used government talking points to explain to the American public what transpired in Benghazi.
Judicial Watch said the Obama administration has also sent false talking points about the attack to Congress.
In July 2014, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit seeking records related to the US government talking points.
“The Obama administration wants to keep this astonishing talking points document secret,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said. “That may serve the interests of Hillary Clinton’s political efforts, but it is contrary to the law and shows contempt for the people’s right to know.”
On June 22, 2015, the State Department released a batch of Clinton’s e-mails to the House of Representatives Select Committee on Benghazi, which investigates the policies, events and activities that led to the terrorist attacks on the US facilities in Benghazi.
