WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On June 15, 2015, Bush announced his intention to seek the US Republican Party presidential nomination.
“Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush raised $11.4 million in fundraising during the second quarter of 2015, an average of more than $700,000 for each day he's been an official candidate,” The Hill reported on Thursday.
Bush leads the 2016 US Republican presidential hopefuls against Democrat Hillary Clinton in a CNN-ORC International poll released on July 1, 2015.
Bush’s campaign national finance chairperson Woody Johnson said the presidential candidate is encouraged and honored to receive the support he has gotten since launching his campaign.
“We are confident our campaign will have the resources needed to get Jeb’s conservative record, message and vision for the future out to voters across the country,” Johnson was quoted as saying by media.
Bush faces more than a dozen candidates in the Republican presidential field, including businessman Donald Trump, US Senator Rand Paul, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
The US presidential election is set for November 8, 2016.
