Greece's PM Asks Parliament to Approve Reforms as ‘National Responsibility’
22:18 GMT 10.07.2015 (Updated: 11:47 GMT 09.02.2023) As part of its "national responsibility," Greece’s prime minister has urged parliament to approve reform proposals submitted by the government on Thursday.
Addressing the Greek parliament early Saturday morning, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras urged lawmakers to approve submitted reforms proposals necessary to keep Greece in the European Union.
"It is a choice of high national responsibility, we have a national duty to keep our people alive…we will succeed not only to stay in Europe but to live as equal peers with dignity and pride," Tsipras said.
