WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — SkyWest allegedly did not inspect cargo door skins on two Bombardier CL-600 jets despite previous FAA directives to inspect the doors.
The FAA had found that regular inspections on the jet for cracking could prevent accidents.
SkyWest ran 15,969 flights after inspections were overdue.
Separately, SkyWest failed to inspect the landing gear of four Bombardier CL-600 jets as required, potentially endangering safety. The airline flew the planes 6,700 times after inspections were overdue.
