Greek Bailout Program Set at 86 Billion Euros Over Three Years - Merkel
ATHENS (Sputnik) – Greek lawmakers of the governing Syriza party that reject the bailout agreement between Greece and its creditors should resign, Syriza's parliamentary group spokesman Nikos Filis said Monday.

"Ministers who voted differently [from the party stance] should vote against, because they have differences among them, and then resign," Filis told the ANT1 TV channel.

The Greek parliament authorized Alexis Tsipras to sign the deal with Greek creditors on the conditions prepared by the government. Two members of the government, formed by the Syriza party, voted against the authorization, eight abstained and seven did not attend the voting.

Farewell to Grexit: Idea of Leaving Eurozone to Remain in Past - PM Tsipras
On Monday, Eurozone leaders reached an agreement on a new bailout package for Greece, with $95 billion to be given to the country over three years in exchange for economic reforms. The Greek parliament has yet to ratify the deal.

A Syriza source told RIA Novosti that the party expected dissenting votes, as the required austerity measures were harsh. He added that it was hard to count the precise amount of dissenting voices, because the agreement had not yet been considered in parliament.

The ruling left-wing Syriza party opposes austerity measures, disputing the bailout package proposed by the international creditors.
