An underwater robot that will be able to detect and determine the coordinates of moving objects including low noise ones is being constructed in the Russian Primoriye region, reports Fund of Advanced Studies.
The unmanned underwater vehicles will be able to patrol the maritime borders of Russia, regulating the waters and transmitting to shore the coordinates of detected objects.
The robotic submarine is being created in a laboratory of underwater robotics at the Institute of Marine Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
A new physical-mathematical model and algorithms to detect and determine the coordinates of moving objects under water are being formulated for the development of the robot.
“This is an important scientific work, the success of which will be able to bring our country to the top in the field of underwater robotics” said the supervisor of the project Yuri Matvienko, media reports.
