“Russia welcomes the decision reached today in Vienna on settling the situation around Iran’s nuclear program and the approvals of the P5+1 group and Iran on their overall action plan. We are sure that the world today breathed a sigh of relief,” Putin was quoted as saying on the Kremlin website.
The agreement between the P5+1 group and Iran is important to realize plans of cooperation between Moscow and Tehran in peaceful nuclear activity, the Russian president said.
"Iran has an opportunity to develop this [nuclear] program, including uranium enrichment, if it allows the control to be carried out by the IAEA and if the sanctions against Tehran are gradually lifted, something we have long been calling for. It is important in terms of the realization of large-scale projects of Russia's cooperation with Tehran in peaceful atom, that are supported by the documents prepared today."
Russia hopes that the decisions on the Iranian nuclear program will be fully implemented by all interested parties, the president said.
"We expect all interested parties, especially from the P5+1 group, to fully implement the decisions made. Political will, that the P5+1 group and Iran demonstrated during the talks, will guarantee a successful realization of the action plan, worked out for a long-term perspective."
Russia will do everything possible so that Vienna agreements on the Iranian nuclear programs operate in full, president Putin said.
"Russia will do everything possible for Vienna agreements to fully operate, thus facilitating international and regional security, global nuclear non-proliferation regime, creating a zone in the Middle East free from the weapons of mass destruction and their deliveries, mobilization of a broad coalition in the region to counter a terrorist threat."
The president added that Russia-Iran ties will receive a new impulse as the two countries' relations will no longer be influenced by external factors.
