Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says Iran should close paths for violations “by the other parties” of the nuclear agreement between Tehran and the international negotiators, because some of the P5+1 countries “are not trustworthy at all”.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Iran should close paths for violations “by the other parties” of the nuclear agreement between Tehran and the international negotiators, because some of the P5+1 countries “are not trustworthy at all,” Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday.

“You are well aware that some of the six states participating in negotiations [on the Iranian nuclear program] are not trustworthy at all,” Khamenei said in a letter to the country’s President Hassan Rouhani, published on the Supreme Leader’s page on Twitter.

Khamenei congratulated Rouhani and the Iranian negotiators team with striking the long-awaited agreement, adding, however, that the text of the deal needs “careful scrutiny.”

He called on Rouhani to “be concerned about possible violation of commitments by the other parties and close paths to it.”

On Tuesday, following the marathon talks in Vienna, Tehran and the P5+1 group of international negotiators — the United States, Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom and Germany – announced that they have reached a final comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. The deal aims to guarantee the peaceful nature of Iranian nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief.

Commenting on the agreement, US President Barack Obama said that the deal is built on verification and not trust.
