WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The area around the naval center has been on lockdown, with dozens of emergency vehicles present on the scene, according to media reports.
It is currently unclear if the gunman is still on the loose.

Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke said in a Twitter message the government would release more details about the incident after confirming it.

The shooting incident at the Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center on Amnicola Highway has been confirmed, US Navy said in a Twitter message on Thursday.
