A train carrying crude oil derailed near the town of Culberson in northeastern Montana, prodding local authorities to evacuate some homes located in rural areas, sources said.
There was no immediate word on injuries or fire, and police assured that there was no threat to public safety.
The train reportedly pulled 106 loaded crude oil cars, with the number of those derailed standing at 21, officials said.
