MOSCOW (Sputnik), Svetlana Alexandrova – It is hard to expect an international probe into Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash in Ukraine to be impartial, as some countries put the responsibility for the tragedy on Russia, Claudio D'Amico member of Italy’s еurosceptic Lega Nord Party told Sputnik.
“I remember that just a couple of hours after the aircraft crash, several countries, including the United States, blamed Russia for it. Today, one year after the tragedy, we still don’t know who is responsible for it. This suggests that the investigation cannot be neutral or unbiased as some countries tried to pin responsibility for the crash on Russia,” the politician said.
Shortly after the tragedy, Washington and Kiev accused eastern Ukrainian militia of downing the flight with a Russian-made Buk missile. No evidence have been provided to support the accusations.
The Dutch Safety Board, tasked with investigating the crash, is expected to issue a final report in October.
