US President Barack Obama will discuss with the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir the Iran nuclear deal and other regional topics, according to a White House official.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President Barack Obama will meet with the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir at the White House on Friday where they will discuss recent nuclear deal brokered between Iran and six international negotiators, a White House official told Sputnik ahead of the meeting.

“They [Obama and Al-Jubeir] are meeting today and will discuss the Iran deal, among other regional topics,” the White House official said.

Saudi Arabia has been hesitant to support the Iranian nuclear deal, voicing concerns that sanctions relief could embolden Iran in the region, including Iran’s funding of Hezbollah as well as the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

On Thursday, Al-Jubeir said he hoped that Iran would use the deal to improve its economic situation and not use it for “adventures in the region.”

On Tuesday, Iran and the P5+1 group of countries — China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany — announced a final comprehensive agreement on Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions' relief.

Under the terms of the agreement, Iran agreed to 15-year limits on its uranium enrichment and stockpiles, in addition to pledging not to build additional heavy water reactors or produce weapons grade plutonium.
