The second largest pharmacy chain in the United States has reported a security breach of its online photo centre.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – CVS Pharmacy, the second largest pharmacy chain in the United States, has reported a security breach of its online photo center, which may have led to the customers’ credit card data being stolen.

"We have been made aware that customer credit card information collected by the independent vendor who manages and hosts CVSPhoto.com may have been compromised. As a precaution, as our investigation is underway we are temporarily shutting down access to online and related mobile photo services," the company said on CVSPhoto.com.

According to the statement, the security breach has not affected other CVS websites or in-store credit card transactions.

Last week, the Canadian division of the Walmart department store reported a security breach of its photo center website, which is run by Canada-based PNI (Photochannel Networks Inc) Digital Media, the same vendor as that of CVSPhoto.
