MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The deal on the Iranian nuclear program will allow Tehran to establish closer relations with its neighboring countries, President Hassan Rouhani said Saturday.

The president added that the agreement was welcomed by the leaders of Iran’s neighboring states, such as Qatar and Pakistan.
On July 14, Iran and the P5+1 group of international mediators, comprising Russia, China, France, the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, reached an agreement ensuring the peaceful nature of Tehran's nuclear program and easing sanctions against the country.
Anticipating a positive outcome of the nuclear talks, Iran and Pakistan signed a trade deal in April this year.
The economic sanctions against the country are estimated to have more than halved Iran's oil exports since 2011. With the deal reached and the lifting of restrictive measures pending, Iran is expected to increase its oil production and exports, boosting its trade in the region and beyond.
