WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On July 14, 2015, Iran and the P5+1 group of countries comprised of the United States, Russia, China, France and the United Kingdom plus Germany reached a final agreement to guarantee the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
"We're rolling out some new online tools that we'll use to advocate for the recently announced agreement to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon."
Under US law, members of Congress have 60 days to review the nuclear deal, during which time President Obama will not be able to waive or suspend congressional sanctions currently in place against Iran.
The online tools, announced by the White House, will include a Twitter feed, as well as an online resource page that will help to promote the Iran nuclear agreement.
The Twitter account will become a forum to engage online audiences, while the page will display information about the nuclear agreement, according to the White House.
"It will help people understand what’s in the deal and what the Iran nuclear program would look like without it."
On Wednesday, US Secretary of State John Kerry, Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz, Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew and a senior intelligence official will conduct classified briefings on the nuclear agreement for members of Congress.
