WASHINGTON, July 22 (Sputnik) — Billionaire businessman and presidential candidate Donald Trump announced on Twitter he will visit the US-Mexican border on Thursday following a slew of controversial comments he has made about Mexican immigrants.
I'm going to the BORDER tomorrow. Will be seeing some really brave people. Look forward to a big day!

Trump will visit Laredo, Texas, where he will meet with local Border Patrol union representatives as well as speak with local law enforcement and reporters.
While announcing his presidential bid on June 16, 2015, Trump characterized Mexican immigrants as rapists and said they bring drugs and crime to the United States.
Based on the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll, Trump leads the Republican presidential candidates and has almost twice the support than former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
