WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Trump currently leads the Republican field of at least 16 serious candidates, with double the ratings in many polls of his nearest rivals, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
“Today, Donald J. Trump, announced the formation of the ‘Veterans for Trump’ Coalition in New Hampshire.”
The veterans have pledged their support to Trump in the primary, according to the press release.
“[T]hey will be advocating for him among other veterans and military families in New Hampshire, where there continues to be overwhelming support for Mr. Trump,” the press release said.
New Hampshire is the first state to hold primary elections for Republican and Democrat presidential candidates. Its outcome plays a major role in determining the selection of the candidates for the two major parties.
The 2016 primary will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.
In the release, Trump pledged to build a new Veterans Administration hospital in New Hampshire if he is elected president.
“Our veterans are incredibly important and I’m proud to have the support of this Coalition, especially in New Hampshire…[I]f I am elected, I will build a full-service, first-class VA hospital to ensure all New Hampshire Veterans received the care they deserve.”
The new organization already has local organizers throughout New Hampshire who were listed by name in the press release.
In addition to forming the New Hampshire Veterans Coalition, earlier this week, Trump established a hotline and email address for military service veterans to share their stories about the need to reform the widely criticized Veterans Administration.
Trump is a television personality, a best-selling author and a real estate mogul with an estimated personal worth of $9 billion.
