"Two days ago, we reached an agreement with the FBI to establish a separate unit comprising 50 people to be trained. We decided to create the separate unit to avoid corruption. They will work not for criminals but for people," Saakashvili said.
According to him, this will be an all new structure which "will hold sessions each two-three days every week and tackle old unsolved problems."
On July 21, Saakashvili and US Assistant Secretary of State William Brownfield signed a memorandum according to which the US will finance training of new law enforcement personnel and fight against corruption in Odessa.
"Since the beginning of the year, the US provided support worth of $15 million to establish the new Ukrainian police forces, including technical equipment, instructors and the creation of a new recruitment system," Brownfield underscored.
