ANKARA (Sputnik) — According to NTV, the fighter jets took off from an airbase in the Diyarbakır Province in southeastern Turkey, entered the Syrian airspace and struck several ISIL targets.
Earlier in the day, three F-16 jets destroyed three Islamic State targets in Syria, using laser-guided bombs, according to an official statement by the Turkish government.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday it had agreed to allow the United States and other anti-Islamic State coalition members to deploy their aircraft at the Incirlik base near the Syrian border to carry out airstrikes in Syria.
