He said that a total of 130 companies have submitted an application to take part in the exhibition, due to be held in the Russian town of Nizhny Tagil between September 9 and September 12.
"Also, our traditional partners from Italy, France, Turkey, Belarus and South Korea have confirmed their participation in the exhibition", Zelenkin said.
He added that foreign companies are unlikely to give up the chance of taking part in the exhibition, which he touted as "a serious event that will see the signing of contracts and agreements."
He was echoed by Nizhny Tagil Mayor Sergei Nosov, who said that the organizers have no fear that the foreign companies will change their mind and refrain from attending.
The Russia Arms Expo in Nizhny Tagil is typically attended by an array of senior Russian officials, and this year, the event is expected to be attended by President Vladimir Putin.
On display will be a multitude of sophisticated military hardware, including the new T-14 Armata Russian tank.
