The document also contains ISIL plans to create a single terrorist army, comprising Pakistani and Afghan Taliban factions.
“Even if the US tries to attack with all its allies, which undoubtedly it will, the ummah [Muslims] will be united, resulting in the final battle,” the document reads, as cited by USA Today.
According to the newspaper, the document contains detailed plans of possible attacks on US troops in Afghanistan, as well as on US diplomats and Pakistani officials.
Three US intelligence officials said the document was believed to be authentic, referring to the writing style and religious wording, thought to be consistent with other ISIL documents.
ISIL is a radical militant group that has declared a caliphate in the areas it controls in Syria and Iraq. A US-led coalition has been carrying out airstrikes against ISIL positions since 2014.
