“The negotiations have started,” the press service said. Details were not disclosed and it is not known what kind of military equipment and how much of it will be sent to Latvia.
According to the Latvian media, American equipment may appear in Latvia at the end of the year.
Latvia has been a member of NATO since 2004. Currently in Latvia there are about 150 US Marines on a rotational basis as well as NATO military equipment.
