MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Former French Minister for Apprenticeship and Professional Formation and current member of the center-right Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) party Nadine Morano has criticized French President Francois Hollande over his policy toward Moscow and “useless” anti-Russia sanctions.
“Taking into account the introduction of useless sanctions, as well as Russia’s embargo against our producers, Francois Hollande definitely hurts France,” Morano said on her Facebook page on Friday.

She stressed that France has suffered because of Hollande’s inability to restore relations with Moscow and settle the Mistral-class helicopter carriers’ issue.
In June, Morano initiated an international working group in the European Parliament to promote constructive dialogue with Russia. Named For New Dialogue With Russia, it consists of 15 members drawn from France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and Portugal.
Earlier this week, Vladimir Kozhin, Russian President Vladimir Putin's aide on military-technical cooperation, said that Russia and France have agreed the terms of the agreement on the termination of the contract, adding that it could be signed soon.
Hollande, in turn, on Friday dismissed reports that Moscow and Paris had reached an agreement on the settlement of the Mistral warships deal.
