MOSCOW (Sputnik) — As many as six people, including a three-year-old boy, were hospitalized on Sunday following a boat explosion of the Thames, British media reported, citing officials.
Earlier in the day, the boat, which is believed to be privately owned, sailed along the River Thames and unexpectedly exploded near the town of Maidenhead, Berkshire.
"A man and a woman aged in their forties and a teenage girl who was on the boat, have been taken to St George's Hospital in London for treatment,” a police spokesman was quoted as saying by Sky News.
The injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, the spokesman added.
The residents of the town were recommended to avoid the area while police officers and emergency services continue their work, according to the broadcaster.
