Phantom iPad? BBC Reporter Taps Imaginary Screen

After wrapping up an otherwise usual segment, BBC Sports presenter confuses viewers by tapping away at an imaginary iPad.

It's not uncommon for news presenters to check their notes or iPads after ending a segment, but evidently, for BBC's Chris Mitchell, his palm was what needed attention.

In a truly bizarre shot, Mitchell wraps up his Sportsday Bulletin and immediately begins tapping away at his palm. Undeterred by the fact that he isn't actually carrying anything, Mitchell even begins scrolling at the non-existent screen as if he, and he alone, can see an invisible tablet.

It's still unclear why the BBC presenter did this, but based on his Twitter account, he at least has a good sense of humor about it.

"Ha! Met with the invisible #ipadpalm greeting on the way into @BBCBreakfast this morning," he posted on his account in response to the comments he received on Twitter.
