The legendary Soviet aircraft designer Artyom Mikoyan was born on August 5, 1905. Together with Mikhail Gurevich, he designed many of the iconic MiG military aircraft. In fact 'MiG' translates into English as 'M&G' - Mikoyan and Gurevich.
