MOSCOW (Sputnik) – In June, the government announced an event-related budget cut of some 30 billion rubles ($480,000 million).
Taking into account all the reductions to the budget, the preparation for the competition is now expected to cost Russia some 335 billion rubles.
Russia will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15, 2018. Russia will host the competition for the first time in its history, in 11 Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi.
