The Russian embassy in Ankara confirmed on Friday that three Russian tourists were killed in a road accident in southwestern Turkey on Thursday, while 23 were injured.

ANKARA (Sputnik) — Earlier reports from the embassy set the number of Russian tourist deaths at four. One of the victims was subsequently identified as a Kazakh citizen.

"Two Russian citizens are in reanimation in a critical condition, a total of eight people remain in hospitals, ten have been discharged," acting press attache of the Russian embassy in Ankara Alexander Leshukov told RIA Novosti.

On Thursday, a bus with tourists overturned on a mountain road en route from Pamukkale, a site of natural beauty popular with tourists, to the southwestern resort of Antalya. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle on a slippery road. A total of 38 people are reported to have sustained injuries in the crash.
