DONETSK (Sputnik) — "The shelling started at four o'clock in the morning (01:00 GMT), and lasted about 40 minutes. Parts of the village Rumyantsevo were hit, private parts. According to preliminary information, there are destruction and fire. Information about the victims are to be confirmed," the representative said.
On August 1, seven people were killed and 19 others were injured in Gorlovka amid continuing shelling by Ukrainian forces.
Violence in Ukraine’s southeast continues despite the February ceasefire agreement signed by representatives of Kiev and the self-proclaimed people’s republics of Donetsk and Luhansk in the Belarusian capital, Minsk.
Both Kiev and DPR and LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic) have repeatedly accused each other of ceasefire violations.
According to UN estimates, fighting in eastern Ukraine, which started in mid-April 2014, has killed over 6,500 people.
