MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ahmed Dawabshe died from injuries a week after extremist settlers firebombed his house in the village of Duma. Dawabshe’s 18-month-old son, Ali, died in the aftermath of the attack, while his wife and 4-year-old son remain hospitalized.
"It is no longer our people’s choice but to start an open and inclusive confrontation with the occupation without waiting for the decision of one or taking permission from any party whatsoever," Hamas spokesman Husam Badran said in a statement.
Hamas has called on Palestinians to take part in Dawabshe’s funeral procession en masse. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) flanked the procession en route to Duma from Nablus to contain any violence, according to the Jerusalem Post.
A number of deaths have been reported in clashes with security forces following anti-settlement demonstrations.
