Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that US intelligence officials allegedly warned Congress that Iran was sanitizing the sprawling military complex to remove traces of its nuclear work. The outlet said intelligence had satellite images that showed heavy machinery working at the site in broad daylight.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Reports about Iran allegedly cleaning up its Parchin military site from nuclear materials are a "lie" perpetuated by opponents of Tehran’s nuclear deal with international mediators, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Saturday.

"We have announced that road construction operations are being carried out at Parchin and their lie will be revealed in the future," Zarif was quoted as saying by the Fars News Agency, adding that the allegations about any cleansing activities at the site were "baseless."

IAEA Access to Iran’s Parchin Military Site to Remain Confidential
According to the agency, the Parchin site has been visited twice by the inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to see if there are any nuclear facilities or installations in the area. The inspections concluded successfully.

Iran reached an agreement on its nuclear program with Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, France and Germany on July 14 in Vienna. The deal seeks to ensure a peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program, preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
