DONETSK (Sputnik) – The share of rubles in the multicurrency budget of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) surpassed 90 percent, DPR Finance Minister Ekaterina Matyushchenko said Friday.
She added that the budget received money mainly through tax and non-tax payments from small and medium-sized business.
"The republic's budget consists 4.1 percent of the hryvnia, 90.7 percent of the ruble, 1.1 percent of the US dollar," Matyushchenko told RIA Novosti.
In May, Finance Minister of the Donetsk People's Republic Oksana Taran said that the republic's authorities were seeking to distance themselves from using the hryvnia to the greatest extent possible.
